YouTube: Add Video to Cart

This policy applies to the YouTube: Add Video to Cart browser extension and this website. The extension helps you make intentional YouTube viewing sessions; it is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.

What the extension stores

The extension stores its data locally in your browser using Chrome extension storage. This includes videos you add to Cart, approved viewing sessions, whitelist entries and their reasons, watch-rule settings, viewing intentions, and locally calculated statistics and activity history.

What the extension reads on YouTube

To provide Cart and session features, the extension reads video identifiers, titles, channel names, durations, thumbnail URLs, and any topic information that YouTube makes explicitly available on the page. It also records local playback progress for videos in an active session so it can calculate viewing statistics and completion.

Network requests

If a saved video is missing details, the extension may request that video’s public YouTube watch page or YouTube’s public oEmbed endpoint to obtain its title, channel name, duration, or category. The extension does not send your Cart, session, whitelist, or viewing statistics to a developer-operated server.

Sharing and sale of data

We do not sell, rent, or transfer your personal data, browsing activity, Cart, whitelist, or viewing statistics to third parties. The extension does not use your data for advertising or behavioral targeting.

Your control

You can remove Cart items, whitelist entries, and local history from the extension. Removing the extension removes its locally stored extension data from your browser. You can also use the Statistics & history screen to export your local statistics as JSON.

Security

The extension does not ask for or store your YouTube or Google password. Data that remains on your device is protected by your browser’s extension storage controls.

Changes to this policy

If the extension’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before or when the related extension update is released.
